PPT Productivity PowerPoint add-in lets you sort PowerPoint table data. You can choose to sort PowerPoint table columns by ascending or descending order.

Standard PowerPoint does not let you sort table data. But with PPT Productivity add-in for PowerPoint you can sort tables, whether the data is alphabetical or numeric! PPT Productivity's Sort Table Data feature lets you sort PowerPoint table data in ascending or descending order. The Sort PowerPoint Tables feature can sort numbers or words, so you can sort tables alphabetically or by value. Plus you can sort multiple selected adjacent columns in PowerPoint, in a single sort.

The Sort Table options are located in the right click mouse menu when clicking on or in a PowerPoint Table. You can also find the sort table feature buttons on the PPT Productivity Ribbon, in the Tables> feature group. Simply place your cursor in the column of the PowerPoint table, then right mouse click and scroll down (PPT Productivity features appear at the end of the PowerPoint right click menu). You can select to sort your PowerPoint table by the following options:

  • Ascending sort: sort PowerPoint table in ascending order for the column selected
  • Descending sort: sort PowerPoint table in descending order for the column selected
  • Add column Ascending to existing sort: for a PowerPoint table already sorted in ascending order, add a second ascending sort column to further refine the sort
  • Add column Descending to existing sort: for a PowerPoint table already sorted in descending order, add a second ascending sort column to further refine the sort
PPT Productivity's sort PowerPoint tables feature can accommodate prefixes and suffixes such as currency symbols, weight measures, distance, volume, area, temperature or power (watts). The Sort PowerPoint tables feature can sort table columns correctly with imperial or metric in the same column.

When you access the feature by clicking on the table, the feature auto sorts table data by column 1, then 2 and then 3. The Sort PowerPoint tables feature detects header and footer rows and excludes them from the sort (the feature identifies header and footer rows based on bold text in the top or bottom of the row, or where the Header/Total Row checkbox is turned on in the Table Design tab).

There is also an option in the menu to move cell formatting with the content.
