Do you get frustrated trying to work out where are PowerPoint templates stored? PPT Productivity add-in's PowerPoint Template Manager features make finding the right PowerPoint Template (also known as PowerPoint Themes or .POTX files) easy. It's a timesaving PowerPoint template library but because it maps to your existing locations, you do not need to move the Templates in order for them to display in the list.

MS Office saves custom PowerPoint templates and themes in a different default location than where PowerPoint's standard Office Themes are saved, which can make it hard to find templates in standard PowerPoint.

PPT Productivity PowerPoint add-in solves this problem by displaying all of your PowerPoint Slide templates in the Template Manager. But you don't need to move items to a specific PowerPoint template location - this feature finds templates across multiple locations.

Click the New Template button or press the default template shortcut key (Ctrl+N) to open PPT Productivity's Template Management popup in PowerPoint.

You can also quickly access any template or presentation file as a new presentation. PPT Productivity's PowerPoint Template management features gives you visibility of all your PowerPoint templates, without you needing to relocate the template files. This includes:

    • Office templates, commonly in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\
    • Office Personal templates, typically in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Custom Office Templates, or OneDrive\Documents\Custom Office Templates
    • Centrally managed Corporate PowerPoint Templates (from the PPT Productivity Team Slide Library feature that allows you to centrally distribute your templates to all users)
    • Recently used PowerPoint templates
    • Pinned PowerPoint templates (which display at the top)

Note: Macro-enabled files and templates (.POTM and .PPTM file types in PowerPoint) are not permitted as default templates by PowerPoint.

If you're working in a PowerPoint Presentation and want to save the template from that presentation for future reuse, simply File > Save As. Enter a name for the PowerPoint presentation template, then click on the file type drop down and select the .potx or .pot file type options.

By default PowerPoint will usually save new .pot or .potx template files to the 'Office Personal Templates' folder locations, so any new templates that you save should automatically display in the PPT Productivity Template Manager. Productivity Tip

You can right-click any PowerPoint template file set as default in the Template Manager for shortcut options to easily Pin or Unpin, open its folder location in Explorer, or copy its path to the clipboard.
