Consulting Toolkit
PowerPoint is a powerful tool for creating and delivering presentations. But how can you make sure your slides are clear, engaging, and effective? Our PPT Productivity team all previously worked in top tier consulting firms and we've spent a lot of time creating and refining PowerPoint decks. Here are our top productivity tips to help you write great PowerPoint slides.
- Know your audience and purpose. Before you start writing your slides, you should have a clear idea of who you are presenting to and what you want them to learn or do. This will help you tailor your content and tone to suit your audience and purpose.
- Plan your structure and flow. A good presentation has a clear beginning, middle, and end. You should start with an introduction that grabs the attention of your audience, establishes your credibility, and previews your main points. Then, you should develop your main points with evidence, examples, and explanations. Finally, you should end with a conclusion that summarizes your main points, reinforces your message, and calls your audience to action.
- Use simple and clear language. Your slides should be easy to read and understand. Avoid using jargon, acronyms, or technical terms that your audience may not be familiar with. Use short sentences and bullet points to convey your key ideas. Use active voice and strong verbs to make your slides more dynamic and persuasive.
- Design your slides for visual impact. Your slides should support your verbal message, not distract from it. Use colors, fonts, images, charts, and animations that are consistent, relevant, and appealing. Avoid using too much text or clutter on your slides. Use white space and alignment to create balance and harmony on your slides.
By following these tips, you can write great PowerPoint slides that will impress your audience and achieve your goals.
